SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Betty Ann Maher of Edwardsville, who passed away on June 29, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Betty Ann Maher was born November 20, 1939, in Edwardsville; her parents were Marion and Lavina Peterson; she married Robert W. Maher on May 28, 1960, in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Betty Ann Maher was a registered nurse; she had worked for St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton and the Madison County Nursing Home before retiring from the Madison County Detention Home; and

WHEREAS, Betty Ann Maher was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville; and

WHEREAS, Betty Ann Maher was preceded in death by her brother, Denny Peterson; and

WHEREAS, Betty Ann Maher is survived by her husband, Robert; her sons, Robert J. (Missy), Benjamin L., William A., Brad A., and Brent D. (Kristie Fore); her daughters, Barbara E. Latham (Christopher) and Elizabeth A. Maher; her grandchildren, Lauren, J.R., Noah, Danielle, Kate, Skylar Maher, Joshua and Jessica Latham, Jennifer Maher, and April Maher; her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Khloe, and Corbin; her brothers, David Peterson (Joy) and James Peterson (Clarine); and her special family friend, Kim Zobrist; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Betty Ann Maher; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Betty Ann Maher as an expression of our sympathy.
