SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward Lawrence "Butch" Foster, Jr. of Waukegan, who passed away on June 3, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Edward Foster, Jr. was born on June 12, 1946 in Chattanooga, Tennessee; his parents were Edward Lawrence, Sr. and Evelyn Beasley; he married Barbara Aikens on August 28, 1966; and

WHEREAS, Edward Foster, Jr. served his country as a member of the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Edward Foster, Jr. enjoyed boxing, watching the Green Bay Packers, and participating in his favorite role as "Poppy" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Edward Foster, Jr. was preceded in death by his father and 2 sisters, Teri Thornton and Paget Webster; and

WHEREAS, Edward Foster, Jr. is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Barbara; his loving mother, Evelyn Foster; a brother, Warren Foster; a son, Kelly (Rilla) Foster; a daughter, Paget Foster; 10 grandchildren, Amber, Joshua, Kayla, Alyssa, Jasmine, Noreen, Adriana, Jada, Idena, and Kelly, Jr.; 7 great-grandchildren, J'Veon, J'Marion, Chance, Jeremy, Jaylen, Arieal, and Vincent, II; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward Lawrence "Butch" Foster, Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Foster, Jr. as an expression of our sympathy.
