HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Curtistine Faulkner-Young of Peoria, who passed away on November 12, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Curtistine Faulkner-Young was born on April 19, 1945 in Scott, Mississippi to Sam and Cornelius Faulkner; she married Joseph Young; and

WHEREAS, Curtistine Faulkner-Young was a cook for many years; she also worked at Bradley University and the Community Action Agency in Peoria; after retirement, she was a grandmother at Webster School for over 5 year; and

WHEREAS, Curtistine Faulkner-Young was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 22 years, Joseph; one son, Trent Young, Sr.; one grandson, Branden Faulkner; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters; and

WHEREAS, Curtistine Faulkner-Young is survived by her children, Shando (Don) Faulkner-Harris, Crystal (Michael) Cook, Daieon "DeeDee" Young, John Young, Laura Young, and Dewayne Young; her 3 siblings, Roosevelt Faulkner, Wardell (Willean) Faulkner, and Mary (Micheal) Anderson-Farris; her 7 grandchildren, Timekia Faulkner, Michael Cook, Jr., Breiana Wells, Breion Wells, Trent Young, Jr., Alisha Lovingood, and Arielle Young; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who adored her and will miss her dearly; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Curtistine Faulkner-Young, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Curtistine Faulkner-Young as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
