SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lawrence "Larry" Molitor of Cordova, who passed away on April 13, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Larry Molitor was born in Galena to Francis and Florence Molitor on June 2, 1944; he served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam; he married Joyce Runde in Hazel Green, Wisconsin on January 11, 1969, and they settled in Cordova; and

WHEREAS, Larry Molitor spent over 30 years working for the Rock Island Arsenal; and

WHEREAS, Larry Molitor was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Rapids City and Cordova American Legion; he was very proud to be a veteran and spent many years supporting fellow veterans, whether it was helping them to receive their deserved benefits or just driving them to get a haircut; and

WHEREAS, Larry Molitor loved gardening and making his special spices that he shared with many; he enjoyed spending time with family and watching his children's and grandchildren's activities; he was a gracious person who loved visiting with friends and made everyone feel welcome; and

WHEREAS, Larry Molitor was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Larry Joe; his brothers, Frank, Dick, and Tom; and his sisters, Florence "Dolly" Heinle, Jeanie Hess, Betty Shetgen, and Sally Frazier; and

WHEREAS, Larry Molitor is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce; his daughters, Lynn (Derek) Brock and Beth (Jason) Cullum; his grandchildren, Addison Brock, Campbell Brock, Finley Brock, Mason Cullum, Anderson Cullum, and Trey Cullum; several nieces and nephews; and his brother, Dave (Cookie) Molitor; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lawrence "Larry" Molitor and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Molitor as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
