SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Lawrence "Larry" Molitor of Cordova,
4who passed away on April 13, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Molitor was born in Galena to Francis and
6Florence Molitor on June 2, 1944; he served with the U.S. Army
7in Vietnam; he married Joyce Runde in Hazel Green, Wisconsin
8on January 11, 1969, and they settled in Cordova; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Larry Molitor spent over 30 years working for the
10Rock Island Arsenal; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Larry Molitor was a member of St. John's Catholic
12Church and the Rapids City and Cordova American Legion; he was
13very proud to be a veteran and spent many years supporting
14fellow veterans, whether it was helping them to receive their
15deserved benefits or just driving them to get a haircut; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Larry Molitor loved gardening and making his
17special spices that he shared with many; he enjoyed spending
18time with family and watching his children's and
19grandchildren's activities; he was a gracious person who loved
20visiting with friends and made everyone feel welcome; and

1    WHEREAS, Larry Molitor was preceded in death by his
2parents; his son, Larry Joe; his brothers, Frank, Dick, and
3Tom; and his sisters, Florence "Dolly" Heinle, Jeanie Hess,
4Betty Shetgen, and Sally Frazier; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Molitor is survived by his wife of 55
6years, Joyce; his daughters, Lynn (Derek) Brock and Beth
7(Jason) Cullum; his grandchildren, Addison Brock, Campbell
8Brock, Finley Brock, Mason Cullum, Anderson Cullum, and Trey
9Cullum; several nieces and nephews; and his brother, Dave
10(Cookie) Molitor; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Lawrence "Larry" Molitor and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Larry Molitor as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
