SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rosemary Nash, who passed away on December 1, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Nash was born in Springfield to Margie L. Douglas on December 8, 1951; she graduated from Lanphier High School in 1970; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Nash retired from Franklin Life Insurance, presently known as AIG, after more than 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Nash was a dedicated member of Union Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk and administrative assistant for 15 years; she was a faithful member and servant of the Culinary Ministry, the Music & Fine Arts Ministry, where she sang with the Women's Choir, the Vera P. Shoultz Circle, and the Overall Missionary; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Nash was a generous person with a beautiful smile and one you could always count on for almost anything; she would make room anytime if you needed a place to stay; she enjoyed traveling and was famous for making delicious baked beans; she was a loving mother, grandmother "Grammy" "G-mom", aunt, cousin, sister, and friend; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Nash was preceded in death by her husband, Derek; her mother, Margie Douglas; and her brother, Victor Hale; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Nash is survived by her daughters, Dr. Nicole (Jacson) Moody and Raquel (Michael) Caldwell; her sister, Alicia K. Robinson; her mother-in-law, Aletha C. Nash; her niece, Candace Silas (LaCrea, Calia, and Gerald); her niece, Charlena (Fred and Jada) Jackson; her nephew, Ryan (Keshia, Raighan, and Benjamin) Robinson; her grandchildren, Audreyana Brown-Nash, Destini, Brandon James, Jaden, Jacee, Jacob, and Joshua Moody, and Michael Caldwell Jr.; her special friend, Geno Collins; and numerous family, friends, and loved ones who will all hold precious memories of her in their hearts; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rosemary Nash and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rosemary Nash as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
