SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Lloyd "Jerry" Lyons of Springfield, who passed away on June 8, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lyons was born in Springfield on August 1, 1961; he earned his masters of arts degree in 1994, from Sangamon State University (now the University of Illinois at Springfield); and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lyons worked for several State agencies, including the EPA, Department of Children and Family Services, Emergency Management Services, where he was on the Y2K Team, and most recently as a Senior Public Administrator for the Department of Aging; and

WHEREAS, Llyod Lyons was listed with the "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges"; he was a former member of AFSCME; he enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals and Rams, collecting baseball cards, wine making, movie watching, going to auctions with his uncle, Dale, and attending the Farmer's Market on Thursday evenings with his family; he was known for his pride of home ownership and was devoted to his family and friends, often attending his friend's children's activities; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lyons was preceded in death by his grandparents and his uncle, Dale Gilbert; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Lyons is survived by his mother, Mary Lyons; his sister, Sherri (Marcus) Schnetz; his aunt, Sandra Myers; and his cousins, Bob (Mary Beth) Myers, Mark (Jackie) Myers, Keith (Shelia) Myers, Dr. Kris (Steve) Myers-Stuenkel, Zachary, Noah, Tayler, Alex and Wesley Myers, Christopher Pettit, and Joey Stuenkel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lloyd Lyons, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lloyd Lyons as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
