SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Lloyd "Jerry" Lyons of
4Springfield, who passed away on June 8, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lloyd Lyons was born in Springfield on August 1,
61961; he earned his masters of arts degree in 1994, from
7Sangamon State University (now the University of Illinois at
8Springfield); and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lloyd Lyons worked for several State agencies,
10including the EPA, Department of Children and Family Services,
11Emergency Management Services, where he was on the Y2K Team,
12and most recently as a Senior Public Administrator for the
13Department of Aging; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Llyod Lyons was listed with the "Who's Who Among
15Students in American Universities and Colleges"; he was a
16former member of AFSCME; he enjoyed following the St. Louis
17Cardinals and Rams, collecting baseball cards, wine making,
18movie watching, going to auctions with his uncle, Dale, and
19attending the Farmer's Market on Thursday evenings with his
20family; he was known for his pride of home ownership and was
21devoted to his family and friends, often attending his friend's
22children's activities; and

1    WHEREAS, Lloyd Lyons was preceded in death by his
2grandparents and his uncle, Dale Gilbert; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Lloyd Lyons is survived by his mother, Mary Lyons;
4his sister, Sherri (Marcus) Schnetz; his aunt, Sandra Myers;
5and his cousins, Bob (Mary Beth) Myers, Mark (Jackie) Myers,
6Keith (Shelia) Myers, Dr. Kris (Steve) Myers-Stuenkel,
7Zachary, Noah, Tayler, Alex and Wesley Myers, Christopher
8Pettit, and Joey Stuenkel; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Lloyd Lyons, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Lloyd Lyons as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
