SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Laverne J. Watson of Brighton, who passed away on June 15, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Watson was born on February 3, 1918, in Fidelity; he was the son of James and Lottie (Tucker) Watson; he married Arlene (Heyen) Watson on February 20, 1937, in Jerseyville; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Watson was a farmer for many years; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Watson was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his sisters, Verle Sullivan, Verna Marshall, Vera Bock, and Eveyln Dwyer; and his brothers, Earl Watson, Melvin Watson, Paul Watson, Alfred Watson, and Charles Raymond Watson; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Watson is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Julia) Watson; his grandchildren, Dale Watson, Jeff (Amy) Watson, Linda (Sean) Patterson, and Jennifer (Chris) Watson-Gushleff; his great-grandchildren, Shaun Watson, Korin Fisher, Joel Watson, Joseph Watson, Johnanthan Watson, Laura Watson, Seth Patterson, Sasha Patterson, Kevin Patterson, and Melinda Patterson; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Christina and Kenneth Maxiener and Alta Fay and Bob Tuetken; and his brother-in-law, Gerald (Shirley) Heyen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Laverne J. Watson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Laverne Watson as an expression of our sympathy.
