SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ruth Ann Phipps, who passed away on January 23, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Phipps was born on Sept. 3, 1943, in Alton; she was the daughter of Stephen G. and Lorraine L. (Funk) Droege; she married William Phipps on April 4, 1964, at SS. Peter and Paul Church; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Phipps was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Phipps enjoyed gardening, flowers, and spending time with her family; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Phipps was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Phipps is survived by her husband, William; her children, Annette Heinemann, Brian Phipps, Matthew Phipps, Samuel Phipps, and Mary and Ken Bower; her grandchildren, Joseph, Jeremy, Andrew, Katlyn, Nate, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Claire; her sisters, Jeanette Sagez and Elaine Pilka; her brother, David Droege; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Ruth Ann Phipps; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ruth Ann Phipps as an expression of our sympathy.
