SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert I. Knobbe, who passed away on November 2, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Robert Knobbe was born on December 31, 1945, in Florissant, Missouri; his parents were Ambrose B. and Emily (Wiese) Knobbe; and

WHEREAS, Robert Knobbe proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 until 1968; and

WHEREAS, Robert Knobbe was the owner and operator of Waldbart and Sons Nursery for over 42 years; and

WHEREAS, Robert Knobbe was a member of the Alton Eagles Lodge 254 and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Duchesne Council 2951; and

WHEREAS, Robert Knobbe enjoyed fishing, taking care of his horses, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Robert Knobbe was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, June Helbling; his brother and sister-in-law, Ambrose "Brosie" and Joan Knobbe; his brother-in-law, John Ebner; and his sister-in-law, Marleen Knobbe; and

WHEREAS, Robert Knobbe is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Ann (Helbling) Knobbe; his sons, Richard and Cheryl Knobbe and Christopher and Robin Knobbe; his daughter, Brenda and Russ Luetkemeyer; his sisters, Sr. Patricia Knobbe, Linda Knobbe, Diane (Knobbe) Coughlin and Tim Coughlin, and Jane (Knobbe) Ebner; his brother, David Knobbe; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Michele Helbling and Mark and Donna Helbling; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Tom Davis; his father-in-law, William Helbling; his grandchildren, Kelli, Kevin, Kylie, Andrew, Katie, and Addison Knobbe, and Amanda and Jessica Luetkemeyer; and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Robert I. Knobbe; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Knobbe as an expression of our sympathy.
