SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of J.D. Walker of Chicago, who passed away on September 19, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born on October 16, 1935 to the late Jerry and Rose Walker in Columbus, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, In 1969, he married Lucille Miller; he worked for Bonton Meat Factory from 1982 to 1990; he later worked for G&M Brick Mason until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, He was a 15 year cancer survivor; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his son, Lyndell; his sisters, Zola, Marie, and Dorothy; and his brothers, James and Williams; and

WHEREAS, J.D. Walker is survived by his wife, Lucille; his daughters, Bridget, Sheila, Gloria, and Florence; his sons, Robert, Glen, Johnnie, and Dean; his 13 grandchildren; his one great-grandchild; his brother; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of J.D. Walker; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of J.D. Walker as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
