SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jo Ann Cannedy of Carlinville, who passed away on November 19, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Jo Ann Cannedy was born on May 29, 1929, in Pasadena, California, to Helen Bixby Bilbruck; she married Dale Cannedy on September 13, 1947; and

WHEREAS, Jo Ann Cannedy was an antique dealer, election judge, and census taker for many years; she was a master gardner, avid collector of junque, a member of the Macoupin County Military Antique Tractor Club, the Crimson Chapeau Red Hat Society, and former Girl Scout leader; she enjoyed sewing, quilting, flower gardening, and attending auctions and yard sales; and

WHEREAS, Jo Ann Cannedy was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Bixby Bilbruck; her sister, Helen Victoria Bilbruck; and her brothers, George, Bill, Jack, and Donnie Bilbruck; and

WHEREAS, Jo Ann Cannedy is survived by her husband, Dale; her daughters, Betty Jo Noll, Becky Lowrance, and Melinda (Kerry) Huff; her grandchildren, Milena (Lucas) Crum, Meghan Lowrance, and Ryan Long; her great-granddaughter, Abella Long; her 2 step-grandchildren; her sister, Marjorie Thomason; and her brother, Bob Bilbruck; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jo Ann Cannedy, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jo Ann Cannedy as a symbol of our deepest sympathy.
