HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jack T. Nolen of Harrisburg, who passed away on June 27, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born on September 25, 1935, in Harrisburg to the late Kenneth "K.C." and Charlotte Sarah (Smith) Nolen.; on June 28, 1980, he married Polly Moore; and

WHEREAS, He was retired from the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation; he was a patient advocate at Primary Care and an investigator for the Saline County State's Attorney's office; he was a member of Jolly Boys, Second Team, a past member of the Harrisburg Booster Club, and the Rotary Club; and

WHEREAS, He received 3 Red Cross Life Savings Awards during his ISP career and coached Khoury League baseball for 9 years; he was a former circuit clerk of Saline County for 10 years; he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; he was a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church and an United States Army veteran; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy Vinyard; and

WHEREAS, Jack Nolen is survived by his wife, Polly Nolen; his sons, Jack Jr. (Lori) Nolen and Jeff Nolen; his brother, Kenneth (Sylvia) Nolen; his sisters, Lynda (George) Henley and Joy Ann (Bill) Pyle; his grandchildren, Amanda West, Jennifer (Mike) Quertermous, Mallory Nolen Jarrett, Tiffany Nolen, and Jackson Nolen; and his great-grandchildren, Baleigh, Nolen, Bayden, Caden, Tommy, Brooklyn, Gavin, and Gunner; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jack Nolen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Nolen as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
