SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Anderson of Moline, who passed away on December 9, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was born in Burlington, Iowa to Robert C. and Evelyn A. Anderson on October 12, 1932; he graduated from Burlington High School and served in the U.S. Army; he received his bachelor's degree and a seminary degree from Augustana College; he received a degree from Union Seminary at Columbia University for Advanced Study and a doctorate in law at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas; he married Roberta M. Linse in Davenport, Iowa on September 14, 1957; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was a professor and administrator at Augustana College in Rock Island; he worked at Deere & Co. as manager of public policy and government relations and in the law department, specializing in political and legislative activities; he also worked as a legislative aid for U.S. Representative, Tom Railsback; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson served as a parish pastor at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in West Chicago and worked for the Lutheran Church of America in areas of social justice; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson enjoyed many things involving the water, including spending time with family and friends at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; he also enjoyed his time as a volunteer fireman with the Moline 2nd Alarmers; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was preceded in death by his son, Michael Anderson; and

WHEREAS, Bob Anderson is survived by his wife, Bobbie; his son, Jeff (Linda) Anderson; his granddaughters, Lauren and Lindsey Anderson; and his sister, Lucia (Richard) Moore; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert L. "Bob" Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Anderson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
