SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Anderson of Moline,
4who passed away on December 9, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was born in Burlington, Iowa to
6Robert C. and Evelyn A. Anderson on October 12, 1932; he
7graduated from Burlington High School and served in the U.S.
8Army; he received his bachelor's degree and a seminary degree
9from Augustana College; he received a degree from Union
10Seminary at Columbia University for Advanced Study and a
11doctorate in law at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas; he
12married Roberta M. Linse in Davenport, Iowa on September 14,
131957; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was a professor and administrator at
15Augustana College in Rock Island; he worked at Deere & Co. as
16manager of public policy and government relations and in the
17law department, specializing in political and legislative
18activities; he also worked as a legislative aid for U.S.
19Representative, Tom Railsback; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bob Anderson served as a parish pastor at St.
21Andrews Lutheran Church in West Chicago and worked for the
22Lutheran Church of America in areas of social justice; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Anderson enjoyed many things involving the
2water, including spending time with family and friends at Lake
3Geneva, Wisconsin; he also enjoyed his time as a volunteer
4fireman with the Moline 2nd Alarmers; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was preceded in death by his son,
6Michael Anderson; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bob Anderson is survived by his wife, Bobbie; his
8son, Jeff (Linda) Anderson; his granddaughters, Lauren and
9Lindsey Anderson; and his sister, Lucia (Richard) Moore;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Robert L. "Bob" Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Bob Anderson as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
