SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wayne Arnold Forgie Sr. of Moline, who passed away on January 10, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Forgie was born to William and Lillian (LaGrange) Forgie in Davenport, Iowa on June 1, 1928; he married Beverly Lavine in Moline on July 13, 1957; he proudly served in the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Forgie worked at the Rock Island Lines as a machinist for 17 years; he then worked for International Harvester for 26 years, retiring in 1988 as a foreman; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Forgie loved traveling and cruise ship vacations and casinos; he was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Forgie was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Leonard Forgie; his sisters, Marcella (Bill) Archer and Delores (Irvin) Hill; and his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty (Carl) Hungate and Burdette Lavine; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Forgie is survived by his beloved wife of over 64 years, Beverly; his children, William Forgie, Wayne (Jan) Forgie Jr., Donald (Patty) Forgie, Micheal (Penny) Forgie, Daniel (Angel) Forgie, Ronald (Cindy) Forgie, and Steven (Laurie) Forgie; his 13 grandchildren; his 18 great-grandchildren; his three great-great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Ann Lavine; and his niece and nephew, Linda and Garry Behrendts; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Wayne Arnold Forgie Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wayne Forgie as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
