| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Ernest L. "Erny" Schrock of Eliza, who | 4 | | passed away on August 3, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Erny Schrock was born to Joseph and Caroline | 6 | | Yoder Schrock in Goodfield on July 21, 1921; he served in the | 7 | | U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; he married Ferris C. | 8 | | Noble in Eliza on May 8, 1949; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Erny Schrock worked as a farmer and a rural mail | 10 | | carrier for the U.S. Postal Service based out of New Boston; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Erny Schrock was a member of the Eliza Community | 13 | | Church and the Rural Letter Carriers' Association, and he was | 14 | | a charter member of American Legion Post #1971; he also served | 15 | | on the Westmer School Board; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Erny Schrock enjoyed fishing, gardening, growing | 17 | | fruit trees, watching sports, especially the St. Louis | 18 | | Cardinals, and spending time with his family; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Erny Schrock was preceded in death by his wife; | 20 | | his parents; three sisters; and two brothers; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Erny Schrock is survived by his daughters, Diane | 2 | | (Chuck) Prill, Susan (Dan) Rhule, and Elaine (Jeff) Clawson; | 3 | | his son, Curtis (Lori) Schrock; eight grandchildren; four | 4 | | great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, | 5 | | be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Ernest L. "Erny" Schrock and extend our sincere condolences to | 9 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Erny Schrock as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
