SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ernest L. "Erny" Schrock of Eliza, who passed away on August 3, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Erny Schrock was born to Joseph and Caroline Yoder Schrock in Goodfield on July 21, 1921; he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; he married Ferris C. Noble in Eliza on May 8, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Erny Schrock worked as a farmer and a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service based out of New Boston; and

WHEREAS, Erny Schrock was a member of the Eliza Community Church and the Rural Letter Carriers' Association, and he was a charter member of American Legion Post #1971; he also served on the Westmer School Board; and

WHEREAS, Erny Schrock enjoyed fishing, gardening, growing fruit trees, watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Erny Schrock was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three sisters; and two brothers; and

WHEREAS, Erny Schrock is survived by his daughters, Diane (Chuck) Prill, Susan (Dan) Rhule, and Elaine (Jeff) Clawson; his son, Curtis (Lori) Schrock; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ernest L. "Erny" Schrock and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Erny Schrock as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
