SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ernest L. "Erny" Schrock of Eliza, who
4passed away on August 3, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Erny Schrock was born to Joseph and Caroline
6Yoder Schrock in Goodfield on July 21, 1921; he served in the
7U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; he married Ferris C.
8Noble in Eliza on May 8, 1949; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Erny Schrock worked as a farmer and a rural mail
10carrier for the U.S. Postal Service based out of New Boston;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Erny Schrock was a member of the Eliza Community
13Church and the Rural Letter Carriers' Association, and he was
14a charter member of American Legion Post #1971; he also served
15on the Westmer School Board; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Erny Schrock enjoyed fishing, gardening, growing
17fruit trees, watching sports, especially the St. Louis
18Cardinals, and spending time with his family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Erny Schrock was preceded in death by his wife;
20his parents; three sisters; and two brothers; and

1    WHEREAS, Erny Schrock is survived by his daughters, Diane
2(Chuck) Prill, Susan (Dan) Rhule, and Elaine (Jeff) Clawson;
3his son, Curtis (Lori) Schrock; eight grandchildren; four
4great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; therefore,
5be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Ernest L. "Erny" Schrock and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Erny Schrock as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
