SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jack E. Fitzpatrick of Rock Island, who passed away on November 6, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Jack Fitzpatrick was born to Frank N. and Martha M. (Lannoo) Fitzpatrick in Moline on January 17, 1932; he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force; he married Janet R. Hodson in Rock Island on January 5, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Jack Fitzpatrick worked in sales in a variety of roles and retired from Bonnett Wholesale Florist in 1994; and

WHEREAS, Jack Fitzpatrick was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Rock Island where he served in various positions; he was also a member of former Rock Island American Legion Post #200; and

WHEREAS, Jack Fitzpatrick was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed woodworking; above all, he loved spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Jack Fitzpatrick was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine (Bob) Bonnett and Marilyn (Ben) Hodson; and his great-granddaughter, Emma Fitzpatrick; and

WHEREAS, Jack Fitzpatrick is survived by his wife; his son, Todd (Kerrie) Fitzpatrick; his daughter, Tami (Jeff) Claus; his grandchildren, Frank (Tabitha) Fitzpatrick, Emma (Michael) Kaschke, and Claire (Kevin) Wood; his great-grandchildren, Jayda Fitzpatrick, Olyvia Fitzpatrick, and Stephen Anthony Kaschke; and his many other family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jack E. Fitzpatrick and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Fitzpatrick as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
