SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" Hammond of Moline, who passed away on October 18, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Jim Hammond was born to James Albert and Barbara (Holmes) Hammond in Joliet on November 5, 1964; he married Tracy Kave in Moline on August 8, 1987; and

WHEREAS, Jim Hammond served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years, and he retired as a staff sergeant; and

WHEREAS, Jim Hammond later worked at Mills Chevrolet and Elliott Aviation, both in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Jim Hammond was active at Shooting Sports in Moline; he enjoyed boating and building model cars; he was known for his quick wit; and

WHEREAS, Jim Hammond is survived by his wife, Tracy; his sons, Tony (Rachel) Hammond and Alex Hammond; his parents, Jim and Barb Hammond; his sisters, Kathe (David) Selby, Ann Hammond, and Karen Hammond; his many nieces and nephews; and his companion, Piper; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James "Jim" Hammond and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Hammond as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
