SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gregory C. Schrof of Bloomington, formerly of Forrest, who passed away on November 4, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was born in Fairbury to Carl G. and Ernestine (Earles) Schrof on November 20, 1959; he graduated from Forrest-Strawn-Wing High School and attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was employed at Schrof Companies and Peiker/Piatchek Associates; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was a member of the Mid-Illinois Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, and Illinois Realtors; he was also a member of Bloomington Lodge #43 A.F. & A.M., the Mohammed Shrine, and the Royal Order of Jesters ct. 40; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was an avid golfer; he was a dedicated Jimmy Buffet fan and a lifelong Republican; family was his top priority, and he exemplified the very definition of unconditional love; he was affectionately know as "Opa" to his three grandsons, who brought him great pride, joy, and lots of laughter; he was a friend to many and was the first to show up for someone in need; he was always the life of the party, and his smile was contagious; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof is survived by his daughter, Lindsey (Justin) Voigts; his grandchildren, Jack, Leo, and Finn Voigts; his sister, Pamela Rieger; his brother, Douglas Schrof; and his longtime girlfriend, Lori Woodall; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gregory C. Schrof and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gregory Schrof as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
