SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Gregory C. Schrof of Bloomington,
4formerly of Forrest, who passed away on November 4, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was born in Fairbury to Carl G.
6and Ernestine (Earles) Schrof on November 20, 1959; he
7graduated from Forrest-Strawn-Wing High School and attended
8Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was employed at Schrof Companies
10and Peiker/Piatchek Associates; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was a member of the Mid-Illinois
12Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors,
13and Illinois Realtors; he was also a member of Bloomington
14Lodge #43 A.F. & A.M., the Mohammed Shrine, and the Royal Order
15of Jesters ct. 40; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was an avid golfer; he was a
17dedicated Jimmy Buffet fan and a lifelong Republican; family
18was his top priority, and he exemplified the very definition
19of unconditional love; he was affectionately know as "Opa" to
20his three grandsons, who brought him great pride, joy, and
21lots of laughter; he was a friend to many and was the first to

1show up for someone in need; he was always the life of the
2party, and his smile was contagious; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof was preceded in death by his
4parents; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gregory Schrof is survived by his daughter,
6Lindsey (Justin) Voigts; his grandchildren, Jack, Leo, and
7Finn Voigts; his sister, Pamela Rieger; his brother, Douglas
8Schrof; and his longtime girlfriend, Lori Woodall; therefore,
9be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Gregory C. Schrof and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Gregory Schrof as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
