SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Douglas R. "Doug" Baze of Moline, who passed away on January 7, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Doug Baze was born to Ralph and Roberta (Wesner) Baze in Geneseo on February 17, 1945; he graduated from Orion High School in 1963; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps; he married Anita Hohenmauer on October 2, 1971, and she preceded him in death on March 31, 1990; he married Alice Kraklow Smith on September 28, 1991; and

WHEREAS, Doug Baze drove a truck for Allied Stone Quarry for 20 years; he also drove for Greater Quad City Auto Auction; and

WHEREAS, Doug Baze was a NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt Sr. being a favorite, and he attended many races over the years; he was also a Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan; and

WHEREAS, Doug Baze is survived by his wife, Alice; his sister, Christine (Robert) Wells; and his many nieces, nephews, and extended family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Douglas R. "Doug" Baze and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Doug Baze as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
