SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Elizabeth Deady, who passed away on September 25, 2018 at the age of 93; and

WHEREAS, Mary Deady was born on December 15, 1924 and was a longtime resident of Oak Park, where she raised her eight children; and

WHEREAS, Mary Deady was a parishioner at Ascension Catholic Church, where she was a founding member of the Ascension Choir and was an active member into her 90s; and

WHEREAS, Mary Deady, traveling into her 80s, went on three pilgrimages with Ascension Church throughout Europe, including to Italy, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, and the ecumenical community of Taize in France; and

WHEREAS, Mary Deady was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Deady, and her siblings, Leonard Deady and Patricia Markey; and

WHEREAS, Mary Deady is survived by her children, Ann Marie (Fred) Wickizer, Patrick (Pamela), Kevin, Matthew (Mary), Mary Joan (the late Michael) McFarlane, Timothy, Mark (Michelle), and Philip Deady; her eight grandchildren; and her two great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Elizabeth Deady and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Deady as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
