Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Regulatory Sunset Act. Extends the repeal of the Medical Practice Act of 1987 from December 31, 2016 to December 31, 2026. Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Removes the requirement that the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation mail to each licensee a renewal notice at least 60 days in advance of the expiration of his or her license. Effective immediately.
Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 In provisions amending the Medical Practice Act of 1987, provides that the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall attempt to provide through electronic means to each licensee under the Act, at least 60 days in advance of the expiration date of his or her license, a renewal notice. Provides that no such license shall be deemed to have lapsed until 90 days after the expiration date and after the Department has attempted to provide such notice.
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.

Excludes from the definition of "employee" an employee employed as a player who is 28 years old or younger, a manager, a coach, or an athletic trainer by a minor league professional baseball team not affiliated with a major league baseball club, if (A) the minor league professional baseball team does not operate for more than 7 months in any calendar year or (B) during the preceding calendar year, the minor league professional baseball team's average receipts for any 6-month period of the year were not more than 33 1/3% of its average receipts for the other 6 months of the year. Effective immediately.
