Senate Sponsors: KARPIEL. Short description: UTIL TREE CUT GUIDELINES Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that in conducting non-emergency vegetation management activities in incorporated municipalities an electric public utility shall follow guidelines established by the International Society of Arboriculture and any applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration or American National Standards Institute standards in effect on January 1, 2000. Requires the Commerce Commission to establish statewide standards for tree trimming activities by January 1, 2002. Provides that municipal ordinances that are equal to or more restrictive than the provisions of this amendatory Act are not invalidated.
