SHARP. 815 ILCS 505/2KK new Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act to require that when a consumer returns merchandise for which cash was paid, if a refund is due, the refund must be in cash. Provides that other refunds must be in the same manner as the payment. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that a refund to a consumer who purchased merchandise by check is not due until the check is honored by the bank on which the check is drawn.
