 1                     AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 675

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill  675  by  replacing
 3    the title with the following:

 4        "AN ACT to amend the Naprapathic Practice Act by changing
 5    Section 65."; and

 6    by  replacing  everything  after the enacting clause with the
 7    following:

 8        "Section 5.  The Naprapathic Practice Act is  amended  by
 9    changing Section 65 as follows:

10        (225 ILCS 63/65)
11        Sec.    65.  Licensure    without    examination.    Upon
12    application made on or before December 31, 1999  For  the  36
13    months beginning on the effective date of this amendatory Act
14    of  1995,  the Department may grant a license as a naprapath,
15    upon review of the application, to an applicant who practices
16    naprapathy and who can document employment as a naprapath and
17    has received remuneration for  practicing  naprapathy  within
18    the  period from July 1, 1985 to July 1, 1993 for at least 10
19    years before the effective date of  this  amendatory  Act  of
20    1995,  if  that  person  submits  an application and pays the
21    necessary  fees.   The  applicant  must  verify  meeting  the

 1    educational qualifications contained in this  Act  and  shall
 2    demonstrate maintenance of clinical skills.  This may require
 3    a   personal   appearance  before  the  Examining  Committee,
 4    successful  completion  of  the  licensing  examination,   or
 5    documentation  of  attendance  at relevant clinical education
 6    programs within for the past 10 5 years.

 8        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  upon
 9    becoming law.".
