          Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to  provide  that  State
      law  enforcement  agencies  (except  the  Department of State
      Police) and local law enforcement agencies may receive a  fee
      not  to exceed $10 (instead of $5) for each copy of a traffic
      accident report.

 1        AN ACT to amend the Illinois  Vehicle  Code  by  changing
 2    Section 11-416.
 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section 5.  The  Illinois  Vehicle  Code  is  amended  by
 6    changing Section 11-416 as follows:
 7        (625 ILCS 5/11-416) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-416)
 8        Sec.  11-416.   Furnishing  copies - Fees. The Department
 9    of State Police may  furnish  copies  of  an  Illinois  State
10    Police  Traffic Accident Report that has been investigated by
11    the State Police and shall be paid a fee of $5 for each  such
12    copy, or in the case of an accident which was investigated by
13    an accident reconstruction officer or accident reconstruction
14    team, a fee of $20 shall be paid.
15        Other  State  law enforcement agencies or law enforcement
16    agencies of  local  authorities,  as  defined  under  Section
17    11-100  of  this Code, may furnish copies of traffic accident
18    reports prepared by such agencies and may receive a  fee  not
19    to  exceed $10 $5 for each copy or in the case of an accident
20    which was investigated by an accident reconstruction  officer
21    or  accident  reconstruction  team,  the  State  or local law
22    enforcement agency may receive a fee not to exceed $20.
23        Any written accident report required or requested  to  be
24    furnished the Administrator shall be provided without cost or
25    fee  charges  authorized  under  this  Section  or  any other
26    provision of law.
