Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.

Sec. 30. Powers and duties of the Department. Subject to the provision
of this Act, the Department may:
(a) Authorize examinations to ascertain the |
| qualifications and fitness of an applicant for licensure as a respiratory care practitioner.

(b) Pass upon the qualifications of an applicant for
|
| licensure by endorsement.
|
|
(c) Conduct hearings on proceedings to refuse to
|
| issue, renew, or revoke a license or to suspend, place on probation, or reprimand a license issued or applied for under this Act.
|
|
(d) Formulate rules required for the administration
|
| of this Act. Notice of proposed rulemaking shall be transmitted to the Board, and the Department shall review the Board's response and any recommendations made in the response.
|
|
(e) Solicit the advice and expert knowledge of the
|
| Board on any matter relating to the administration and enforcement of this Act.
|

(g) Maintain a roster of the names and addresses of
|
| all licenses and all persons whose licenses have been suspended, revoked, or denied renewal for cause within the previous calendar year. The roster shall be available upon written request and payment of the required fee.
