Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

215 ILCS 93/15

    (215 ILCS 93/15)
    Sec. 15. Applicability and scope.
    (a) This Act shall apply to each health benefit plan for a small employer that is delivered, issued for delivery, renewed, or continued in this State after July 1, 2000. For purposes of this Section, the date a plan is continued shall be the first rating period which commences after July 1, 2000. The Act shall apply to any such health benefit plan which provides coverage to employees of a small employer, except that the Act shall not apply to individual health insurance policies.
    (b) This Act shall not apply to any health benefit plan for a small employer that is delivered, issued, renewed, or continued in this State on or after January 1, 2022. However, if 42 U.S.C. 18032(c)(2) or any successor law is repealed, then this Act shall apply to each health benefit plan for a small employer that is delivered, issued, renewed, or continued in this State on or after the date that law ceases to apply to such plans.
