1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the West Central Junior
4 High School 8th grade boys relay team, the Cougars, on placing
5 first in the 4x200m relay at the 2024 Illinois Elementary
6 School Association (IESA) Class 2A 8th Grade Boys State Track
7 and Field Meet; and

8     WHEREAS, The Cougars 8th grade boys relay team earned
9 first place in the 4x200m relay with a time of one minute and
10 39.82 seconds; and

11     WHEREAS, The Cougars 8th grade boys relay team also placed
12 first in the 4x400m relay, finishing with a time of three
13 minutes and 50.48 seconds; and

14     WHEREAS, The Cougars 8th grade boys relay team includes
15 Dallas Surratt, Brady Engelbrecht, Beau Donovan, Brody Lawson,
16 Jacob Grady, and Abe Bonjean; and

17     WHEREAS, The Cougars 8th grade boys relay team is led by
18 Coach Jason Likes; therefore, be it

19     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
20 HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate the West Central Junior High School 8th grade
2 boys relay team, the Cougars, on their accomplishments at the
3 2024 Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 2A
4 8th Grade Boys State Track and Field Meet, and we wish them
5 continued success in the future; and be it further

6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to the West Central Junior High School 8th grade
8 boys relay team as an expression of our esteem and respect.
