SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Charles Laverne Griffith of
4Bettendorf, Iowa, who passed away on January 24, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Griffith, the son of Sidney and Ruby
6(Saunders) Griffith, was born in Keokuk, Iowa on March 30,
71949; he served in the U.S. Navy; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Charles Griffith, who was affectionately known as
9"Chuck" or "Griffer", possessed a contagious zest for life and
10a boundless love and dedication to his wife, Terry, and his
11family; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles Griffith's humor and his delicious,
13homemade family meals brightened the days of all who knew him;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Griffith will be remembered for his
16kindness, laughter, and warmth; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Charles Griffith was preceded in death by his
18parents; his stepmother, Shirley; his brothers, William and
19Victor; his sister, Sharon; and his son, Nathan; and

1    WHEREAS, Charles Griffith is survived by his wife, Terry;
2his stepchildren, Jeff and Deanna; his granddaughters, Kelsey
3and Carly (Mike); his great-granddaughter, Gracelyn; his
4brothers, Vincent (Teresa) and Mike (Kim); his sister, Clarice
5(Todd); and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Charles Laverne Griffith and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Charles Griffith as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
