AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2156

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2156 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
5Sections 10-20.81 and 34-18.75 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/10-20.81)
7    Sec. 10-20.81. Identification cards; suicide prevention
8information. Each school district that serves pupils in any of
9grades 6 through 12 and that issues an identification card to
10pupils in any of grades 6 through 12 shall provide contact
11information for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
12(988), the Crisis Text Line, and either the Safe2Help Illinois
13helpline or a local suicide prevention hotline or both on the
14identification card. The contact information shall identify
15each helpline that may be contacted through text messaging.
16The contact information shall be included in the school's

1student handbook and also the student planner if a student
2planner is custom printed by the school for distribution to
3pupils in any of grades 6 through 12.
