| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Lynda Dale Puckett, who passed away on | 4 | | November 7, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett was born in Chicago to Edward and | 6 | | Margret Bland on December 23, 1953; she had her first communion | 7 | | at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Chicago; she attended | 8 | | Illinois State University, Clark College in Dubuque, Iowa, and | 9 | | the University of Montana, where she was pursuing a degree in | 10 | | speech pathology; before starting a family, she was a world | 11 | | traveler and even spent time on an Indian reservation observing | 12 | | the culture; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett retired from Oak Park and River | 14 | | Forest High School after over 15 years of assisting students | 15 | | with disabilities; she worked closely under the leadership of | 16 | | the Black Star Project (Saturday University), helping students | 17 | | from 5th to 8th grade have a better understanding of basic math | 18 | | skills in preparation for high school; she continued her autism | 19 | | expertise with Answer, Inc.; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett received the Congressman Danny K. | 21 | | Davis Outstanding Teacher Award; she served as a member under | 22 | | Illinois State Senator Kimberly Lightford on the Women's |

| 1 | | Committee; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett was a member of Eastern Star and | 3 | | spent years in the Tabitha Grand and Sarah J. Harris Chapters; | 4 | | family was important to her, and she was especially proud of | 5 | | her oldest grandchild, CJ, who attends the United States | 6 | | Military Academy at West Point; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett was preceded in death by her parents | 8 | | and her siblings, Calvin and Yolanda Bland; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett is survived by her husband of 43 | 10 | | years, Floyd Puckett Sr.; her daughters, April (Chris), | 11 | | Kandieous, Dana (Thaddeus), and Paris Ashley; her son, Floyd | 12 | | Jr. (Noemi); her grandchildren, CJ, Colin, Chase, Taylor, | 13 | | Camryn, Andrew, Olivia, and Nathan; her sisters, Veronica, | 14 | | Lynette, and Sheniell; her brother, Michael; numerous nieces, | 15 | | nephews, aunts, cousins, Puckett sisters and brothers, and her | 16 | | mother-in-law, Margaret Puckett; therefore, be it
