SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lynda Dale Puckett, who passed away on
4November 7, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett was born in Chicago to Edward and
6Margret Bland on December 23, 1953; she had her first communion
7at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Chicago; she attended
8Illinois State University, Clark College in Dubuque, Iowa, and
9the University of Montana, where she was pursuing a degree in
10speech pathology; before starting a family, she was a world
11traveler and even spent time on an Indian reservation observing
12the culture; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett retired from Oak Park and River
14Forest High School after over 15 years of assisting students
15with disabilities; she worked closely under the leadership of
16the Black Star Project (Saturday University), helping students
17from 5th to 8th grade have a better understanding of basic math
18skills in preparation for high school; she continued her autism
19expertise with Answer, Inc.; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett received the Congressman Danny K.
21Davis Outstanding Teacher Award; she served as a member under
22Illinois State Senator Kimberly Lightford on the Women's

1Committee; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett was a member of Eastern Star and
3spent years in the Tabitha Grand and Sarah J. Harris Chapters;
4family was important to her, and she was especially proud of
5her oldest grandchild, CJ, who attends the United States
6Military Academy at West Point; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett was preceded in death by her parents
8and her siblings, Calvin and Yolanda Bland; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lynda Puckett is survived by her husband of 43
10years, Floyd Puckett Sr.; her daughters, April (Chris),
11Kandieous, Dana (Thaddeus), and Paris Ashley; her son, Floyd
12Jr. (Noemi); her grandchildren, CJ, Colin, Chase, Taylor,
13Camryn, Andrew, Olivia, and Nathan; her sisters, Veronica,
14Lynette, and Sheniell; her brother, Michael; numerous nieces,
15nephews, aunts, cousins, Puckett sisters and brothers, and her
16mother-in-law, Margaret Puckett; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Lynda Dale Puckett and extend our sincere condolences to her
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
