| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Donald F. "Don" Hoppensteadt of Huntley, | 4 | | who passed away on November 10, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt was born in Wood Dale to Fred and | 6 | | Lillian Hoppensteadt on May 27, 1933; he graduated from Lane | 7 | | Tech High School and served in the United States Army; he | 8 | | married Barbara Barth on April 30, 1960; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt worked as a mechanical engineer; | 10 | | and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt was president of the School Board | 12 | | for Pilgrimage Lutheran Church in Chicago; he was a Boy Scout | 13 | | leader and served as president of Our Savior Lutheran Church in | 14 | | Wisconsin; he was a member of Shepherd of the Prairie Church | 15 | | and a proud Chicago White Sox fan; he enjoyed golfing, | 16 | | swimming, playing cards, and collecting antique clocks; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt was preceded in death by his | 18 | | parents; his son, Ronald Hoppensteadt; his grandson, Alex | 19 | | Hoppensteadt; and his brother, Robert (Esther) Hoppensteadt; | 20 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt is survived by his wife of 57 | 2 | | years, Barb; his children, Juli (Scott) Hoppensteadt and Jim | 3 | | (Jodi) Hoppensteadt; his daughter-in-law, Dawn Hoppensteadt; | 4 | | his grandsons, Max and Matt (Megan); and his | 5 | | great-granddaughters, Skylar and Ashlyn; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Donald F. "Don" Hoppensteadt, and extend our sincere | 9 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 10 | | him; and be it further
