| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Cyril Henry Goetten of Jerseyville, who | 4 | | passed away on July 25, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was born in Fieldon on July 5, 1917 | 6 | | to Anthony and Elizabeth (nee Beiermann) Goetten; he married | 7 | | Margaret C. Pohlman in Carrollton on June 14, 1950; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was employed at Olin Corp. for 42 | 9 | | years, but was a farmer at heart; he began farming as a young | 10 | | boy and continued to do what he loved until retiring at the age | 11 | | of 94; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was a dedicated member of the Holy | 13 | | Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville; he was also a member of | 14 | | the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 492, and the VFW, | 15 | | all in Jerseyville; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was preceded in death by his parents | 17 | | and his 2 sisters, Bernadine Huebener and Genevieve Goetten; | 18 | | and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten is survived by his wife of 64 years, | 20 | | Margaret; his 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John and Connie |
