SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of David E. Linde of Oak Park, who passed
4away on February 19, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Linde was born on April 13, 1965 in Chicago
6and was raised in Evergreen Park; and
 
7    WHEREAS, David Linde graduated from Evergreen Park High
8School, Carroll College, and John Marshall Law School; and
 
9    WHEREAS, David Linde was a practicing bankruptcy attorney;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, David Linde was known for his remarkable courage;
12after battling Cystic Fibrosis since childhood, he survived a
13double lung transplant in 1993; a second double lung transplant
14in 1996 and a kidney transplant in 2003 gave him even more full
15years to enjoy with family and friends; he received the kidney
16from his good friend and college roommate, Jay Shaffer; and
 
17    WHEREAS, David Linde was a supporter of Oak Park Windmills
18Softball, cheering and coaching his daughter's softball team in
19Chicagoland area games and in regional and national
20tournaments; and

1    WHEREAS, David Linde was a lifelong Chicago White Sox fan;
2he avidly followed baseball from a young age, when he batted at
3the old Comiskey Park, to recent games at "The Cell", where he
4joined in the celebration of his parents' 50th wedding
5anniversary; and
 
6    WHEREAS, David Linde was the devoted husband of Christine
7for 25 years and a loving father who would cheer and celebrate
8all things Samantha; many of those years were thanks to the
9gifts of organ transplantation and modern medical care; and
 
10    WHEREAS, David Linde is survived by his wife, Christine;
11his daughter, Samantha; his parents, Ralph and Caroline Linde;
12his sister, Julia (Derek) Inksetter; his nephews, Andrew and
13Charlie; his niece, Rachel Inksetter; and his many aunts,
14uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
17family and friends, mourn the passing of David E. Linde; and be
18it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of David Linde as an expression of our
21sympathy.
