AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5056

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5056 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by adding Section 4-1.13 as follows:

(305 ILCS 5/4-1.13 new)

Sec. 4-1.13. Notification of absence from State. A recipient of benefits provided under this Article who plans to leave the State for more than 90 days shall notify the Department of his or her plans in order to remain eligible to receive such benefits. Upon notification, the Department shall suspend the recipient's benefits until he or she returns to the State. Any recipient who fails to fulfill the notification requirement under this Section shall no longer be eligible to receive benefits provided under this Article.".
