AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1490

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1490 as follows:
 
3on page 7, by replacing line 2 with the following:
4"application file, license file, or registration file as
5maintained by the"; and
 
6on page 7, line 23, after "branches.", by inserting the
7following:
8"One member of the Board shall be a member of the martial arts
9community and one member of the Board shall be a member of
10either the martial arts community or the boxing community.";
11and
 
12on page 9, by replacing lines 14 through 18 with the following:
13        "(4) Amateur martial arts contests that are not defined
14    as full-contact martial arts contests under this Act.
15        (5) Full-contact martial arts contests, as defined by

1    this Act, that are recognized by the International Olympic
2    Committee or are contested in the Olympic Games and are not
3    conducted in an enclosed fighting area or ring."; and
 
4on page 12, line 25, after "competing", by inserting "subject
5to Department approval"; and
 
6on page 13, line 13, by replacing "deductible" with
7"deductible. The promoter may not carry an insurance policy
8with a deductible in an amount greater than $500"; and
 
9on page 13, line 14, by replacing "he or she" with "a
10contestant"; and
 
11on page 19, by replacing lines 7 through 18 with the following:
12"boxing or full-contact martial arts, (3) pay the required fee
13and meet any other requirements as established by rule provide
14proof of a surety bond of no less than $5,000 to cover
15financial obligations pursuant to this Act, payable to the
16Department and conditioned for the payment of the tax imposed
17by this Act and compliance with this Act and the rules
18promulgated Act and compliance with this Act and the rules
19promulgated pursuant to this Act, and (4) in addition to the
20foregoing, an applicant for licensure as a promoter of
21professional contests or a combination of both professional and
22amateur bouts in one contest shall also provide (i) proof of a

1surety bond of no less than $5,000 to cover financial
2obligations under this Act, payable to the Department and
3conditioned for the payment of the tax imposed by this Act and
4compliance with this Act, and the rules adopted under this Act,
5and (ii) provide a financial statement, prepared by a certified
6public accountant, showing liquid working capital of $10,000 or
7more, or a $10,000 performance bond guaranteeing payment of all
8obligations relating to the promotional activities, and (5) pay
9the required fee and meet any other requirements as determined
10by rule."; and
 
11on page 22, line 16, by replacing "2 EMT-Ps" with "at least one
12EMT and one EMT-P"; and
 
13by deleting line 18 on page 26 through line 2 on page 27.
