AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2200

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2200 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Tuberculosis Sanitarium District Act is amended by adding Section 5.4 as follows:

(70 ILCS 920/5.4 new)

Sec. 5.4. Dissolution; counties of 3,000,000 or more. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, any tuberculosis sanitarium district organized under this Act in a county with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants is dissolved by operation of law upon the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 93rd General Assembly. All assets and liabilities of the dissolved tuberculosis sanitarium district are transferred to the county board of the county in which the district is located upon the date of dissolution and all assets shall be deposited into a special purpose fund for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of tuberculosis. The county board shall examine all parcels of unimproved real estate in excess of 15 acres owned by the dissolved tuberculosis sanitarium district and transfer them, to the extent appropriate, to the forest preserve district board of the county. All responsibility for tuberculosis care and treatment of the dissolved tuberculosis sanitarium district is transferred to the county board and shall be administered by the county's State-recognized public health department.".
