 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3514

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 3514,  by  deleting
 3    everything  after  the  enacting clause and inserting in lieu
 4    thereof the following:

 5                             "ARTICLE 1

 6        Section 5.  The following amounts, or so  much  of  those
 7    amounts  as  may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
 8    to  the  State  Board  of  Elections  for  its  ordinary  and
 9    contingent expenses as follows:

33    to  the  State  Board  of  Elections  for  grants  to   local

 2    For Reimbursement to Counties for increased
 3        Compensation to Judges and other
 4        Election Officials, as provided in
 5        Public Acts 81-850, 81-1149, and 90-672.....  $1,364,100
 6    For Payment of Lump Sum Awards to County
 7        Clerks, County Recorders, and Chief Election Clerks as
 8        Compensation for Additional Duties required
 9        of such officials by consolidation of
10        elections law, as provided in Public Acts
11        82-691 and 90-713...........................     812,500
12    For Payment to Election Authorities for expenses
13        in supplying voter registration tapes to the
14        State Board of Elections pursuant to
15        Public Act 85-958...........................      12,400

16             (Total, this Section $2,189,000)

17        Section   15.  In   addition   to   all   other   amounts
18    appropriatedin  fiscal  year 2003, the amount of $50,000,000,
19    or  so  much  of  that  amount  as  may  be   necessary,   is
20    appropriated  from  the  Help Illinois Vote Fund to the State
21    Board of Elections for the purposes provided in the  Election
22    Code for that Fund.

23                              ARTICLE 2

24        Section  5.  The  following  named  amounts,  or  so much
25    thereof as may be necessary, respectively,  for  the  objects
26    and  purposes  hereinafter  named,  are appropriated from the
27    General Revenue Fund to  meet  the  ordinary  and  contingent
28    expenses of the State Civil Service Commission:
29      For Personal Services ........................ $    283,800
30      For Employee Retirement Contributions
31       Paid by Employer ............................       11,500

12        Section  99. Effective Date. This Act take effect on July
13    1, 2003.".
