 1                     AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 197

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill  197  by  replacing
 3    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 4        "Section 5.  The Lead Poisoning Prevention Act is amended
 5    by adding Section 7.3 as follows:

 6        (410 ILCS 45/7.3 new)
 7        Sec.  7.3.  Screening  of  pregnant  or  lactating women.
 8    Subject to appropriations or  other  available  funding,  the
 9    Department   shall   establish  a  program  to  provide  lead
10    poisoning screening for  women  who  are  (i)  determined  to
11    reside  in  an  area  defined as high risk by the Department,
12    (ii)  age  13  or  older,  and  (iii)  either   pregnant   or
13    lactating.".
