SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael J. Leginski of Wadsworth, who passed away on January 24, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Michael Leginski was born on April 2, 1946, in Waukegan; he married Joyce Semasko on May 18, 1974, at Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Michael Leginski was a graduate of St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and earned his master's degree in education from Roosevelt University in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Michael Leginski taught for 33 years at McCall School in Waukegan, having taught both 4th and 5th grades until his retirement in 2001; he also worked as a security guard at Abbott Laboratories for 28 years; and

WHEREAS, Michael Leginski was a member of the "Push Buttons" Social Club and the Zion-Benton Moose Club; and

WHEREAS, Michael Leginski enjoyed fishing, bowling, and golfing; he was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan; and

WHEREAS, Michael Leginski was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; and

WHEREAS, Michael Leginski is survived by his wife, Joyce; his son, Mark J. (Elizabeth) Leginski; his daughter, Lisa (Chris) Leynes; his mother, Olga Leginski; his grandchildren, Livia, Noah, and Maximus; his "best friend", Sam; and his sister, Connie (Mel) Danielson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Michael J. Leginski; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Leginski as an expression of our sympathy.
