SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth L. Latimer of Marengo, who passed away on August 12, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer was born on June 28, 1927 in Oak Park; his parents were John and Hazel (Hunter) Latimer; he married Carol "Joyce" Latimer on April 19, 1953 in Earlville; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer served in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer retired from Arnold Engineering after 30-plus years of service; prior to his service at Arnold Engineering, he served as a high school math teacher at Marengo High School; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer was an active member of ASTM International and an elder at Zion Lutheran Church; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer enjoyed woodworking, photography, and playing golf; he also enjoyed fixing things around the house, making his own apple cider and wine, reading, and crossword puzzles; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, and his parents; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer is survived by his daughters, Melissa (John) Dudek, Janice (Pete) Tonyan, Nancy (Mike) Blair, Phyllis (Gerry) Cuomo, Suzanne Latimer, and Karen (Jeff) Hruska; his 12 grandchildren; his great-granddaughter; and his sister, Joan (Coleman) Kukuk; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth L. Latimer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Latimer as an expression of our sympathy.
