SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth L. Latimer of Marengo, who passed
4away on August 12, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer was born on June 28, 1927 in Oak
6Park; his parents were John and Hazel (Hunter) Latimer; he
7married Carol "Joyce" Latimer on April 19, 1953 in Earlville;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer served in the United States Navy
10during World War II; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer retired from Arnold Engineering
12after 30-plus years of service; prior to his service at Arnold
13Engineering, he served as a high school math teacher at Marengo
14High School; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer was an active member of ASTM
16International and an elder at Zion Lutheran Church; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer enjoyed woodworking, photography,
18and playing golf; he also enjoyed fixing things around the
19house, making his own apple cider and wine, reading, and
20crossword puzzles; and

1    WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer was preceded in death by his wife,
2Joyce, and his parents; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer is survived by his daughters,
4Melissa (John) Dudek, Janice (Pete) Tonyan, Nancy (Mike) Blair,
5Phyllis (Gerry) Cuomo, Suzanne Latimer, and Karen (Jeff)
6Hruska; his 12 grandchildren; his great-granddaughter; and his
7sister, Joan (Coleman) Kukuk; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth L. Latimer;
11and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Kenneth Latimer as an expression of
14our sympathy.
