HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kim Commack on her retirement as a Safe School Teacher, Center for Education Opportunity, Madison County Regional Safe School Program; and

WHEREAS, Kim Commack began her education career as a safe school teacher in 1979 and has spent all of her 34 years in education at the regional safe school in Madison County; and

WHEREAS, Kim Commack taught thousands of at-risk youth language art skills and served as a program coordinator to educate thousands of young people so that they could become productive members of society; and

WHEREAS, Kim Commack received her bachelor of science degree from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, in 1977 and her master of science degree in special education from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1986; she obtained her National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in December 1989; and

WHEREAS, Kim Commack will be retiring to spend more time with her children, Emily, Nathan, and Leah; her husband, Tom; and their dog, Molly, and will be making frequent trips to their second home at the Lake of the Ozarks; and

WHEREAS, Kim Commack's retirement from the Center for Education Opportunity will become official on May 22, 2013; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kim Commack on the occasion of her retirement, thank her for her commitment to education, and wish her the best in all her future endeavours; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kim Commack as an expression of our esteem and respect.
