SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Rod Krahl of Milan, who passed away on
4December 22, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rod Krahl was born in Moline to Henry A. and
6Bernice M. (Lemon) Krahl on November 20, 1946; he served with
7the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Fran Thorpe at
8Zion Lutheran Church on January 31, 1969; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rod Krahl started his career at Elliott Aviation
10as a flight instructor during the day and worked on the flight
11lines supporting aircraft during the evenings; he enjoyed a
1242-year career in aviation, serving as chief pilot for both
13the Montgomery Elevator Company and Quest II, where he
14developed lifelong friendships with the Hank and Hallene
15families; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Rod Krahl was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in
17Taylor Ridge, the Vietnam Veterans of America, and American
18Legion Post 1166 Reynolds; he enjoyed all things aviation and
19was an avid reader; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Rod Krahl is survived by his wife, Fran; his
21sons, Rod (Barb) Krahl, Ryan (Jen) Krahl, and Travis Krahl;

1his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Grace, Klaus, and Wilhelm; his
2sister, Peggy (Krahl) Edwards; and his brothers, Ron Krahl,
3Carl Krahl, and Doug (Tresa) Krahl; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Rod Krahl and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
7friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Rod Krahl as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
